Dedicated to the documentation, study, and safeguarding of human heritage, ICHAC unites historians, archaeologists, digital archivists, conservators, academic institutions, and cultural tourism practitioners.

Through interdisciplinary inquiry, state-of-the-art digital preservation, open-access academic publications, and community-centered heritage tourism, ICHAC builds an enduring bridge between the profound achievements of past civilizations and the challenges of the contemporary world.

Vision Statement

“To serve as a globally recognized catalyst for the safeguarding, digital immortalization, and scholarly revitalization of human civilizational heritage, ensuring that the material culture, intangible memory, and historical wisdom of all civilizations remain protected, accessible, and actively inspiring for future generations.”

Mission Statement

“ICHAC is dedicated to advancing interdisciplinary academic research, championing cutting-edge digital preservation of endangered monuments and archives, fostering responsible and sustainable cultural tourism, and nurturing international institutional cooperation. We empower scholars, local heritage custodians, and global institutions to document, preserve, and celebrate shared human history through ethical scholarship and technological innovation.”

Scope of the Council

The operational and intellectual scope of ICHAC spans five core, interconnected domains:

  1. Archaeological Research & Monument Conservation: Documenting historical landscapes, conducting salvage documentation, supporting field surveys, and monitoring vulnerable archaeological sites across ancient cultural corridors.
  2. Digital Heritage, Epigraphy & Manuscript Preservation: Pioneering 3D photogrammetry, virtual reality reconstructions, multispectral imaging, and high-resolution digital archiving for rare manuscripts, architectural monuments, inscriptions, and numismatic collections.
  3. Scholarly Publishing & Open Knowledge Dissemination: Publishing peer-reviewed, open-access academic journals, critical editions, monographs, conference proceedings, and policy papers adhering to international editorial standards and bibliographic rigor.
  4. Experiential Cultural & Eco-Heritage Tourism: Designing ethically guided cultural itineraries, historical trail mappings, community-led heritage awareness initiatives, and educational study expeditions that protect local environments while empowering host communities.
  5. International Cooperation & Scholarly Mobility: Facilitating institutional Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs), inter-university research consortiums, academic symposiums, international conferences, and cross-border research fellowships.

Institutional Objectives

To fulfill its mission, ICHAC pursues the following strategic objectives:

  1. Promote High-Impact Scholarly Publications: Establish and maintain international peer-reviewed journals indexed in major scholarly databases, providing a global forum for cutting-edge civilizational, archaeological, and cultural research.
  2. Immortalize Endangered Sites Through Digitization: Deploy accessible digital archives, 3D laser-scanning repositories, and interactive virtual museum exhibits to preserve cultural assets threatened by climate impacts, rapid urbanization, or neglect.
  3. Cultivate Global Academic & Institutional Networks: Partner with universities, national departments of antiquities, heritage trusts, and international non-governmental bodies to foster collaborative research and grant-funded expeditions.
  4. Advance Sustainable & Community-Engaged Tourism: Develop evidence-based guidelines and educational resources for sustainable heritage travel, creating cultural routes that generate economic vitality for local communities while safeguarding site integrity.
  5. Support Emerging Scholars & Field Researchers: Offer early-career fellowships, travel grants, methodology workshops, and training in digital documentation tools (photogrammetry, GIS, and archival curation) for researchers worldwide.
  6. Bridge Academic Rigor and Public Education: Translate complex archaeological and historical findings into accessible public webinars, virtual museum collections, and heritage awareness campaigns that foster mutual intercultural respect and civilizational dialogue.
